Your choices are... | |||
Handle / Knob | Handle knob, wheel or other grip fitting for attachment to the end of a control cable or wire rope.
Lever / Control Head | A lever or lever fitting is attached to the end of a control cable and mechanically enhancing the applied force used to actuate a control cable, adjust the tension in a cable or multiply the force delivered by the cable. Control head may consist of hand operated, foot pedal controls, panel mounted units (knob or Venire controls), and multilever (multiple cable) control units. Levers or control heads may or may not include handles, pedals and mounting brackets.
Cable Only | |||
Other | Unlisted, specialized, proprietary, custom or application-specific control cable type.

End Fitting | |||
Your choices are... | |||
Ball Fitting | Ball fittings are available in plain ball, single shanked ball, and double shanked ball configurations. All types have a through hole for mounting onto a cable. Ball can be used to allow the end of a cable to pivot or may provide spacing, which reduces contact area and resistance as a wire rope or control cable is dragged along a surface.
Eye | Fitting with an eye or opening, which can be grabbed onto with a hook, ring or shackle. The eye may be round, slotted, oval square or another shape.
Fork / Strap Eye | Forks, strap eyes or clevis assemblies consist of an elongated "U" shape where the base of the "U" is attached to the end of the cable using a ball fitting or socket. Strap eyes have two eyes at the open end of the strap to hold a clevis or other pin. Clevis assemblies include the clevis pin.
Latching System | Fitting system providing a latching, catch or snap-in capability to capture another fitting, ring, eye or pin.
Oval Sleeve / Flemish Eye | Oval sleeves and Flemish eyes can accommodate two cables and are used to form a loop at the end of a cable. Sleeves are typically swaged onto a wire rope.
Mounting Bracket | Mounting brackets are used to hold or mount threaded studs or other cable fittings, which are attached to a cable, onto a surface.
Stop Sleeve / Plug | Stop sleeves, buttons, swaging ferrules, swage terminals or plugs are simple cylindrical or hex shaped fittings accommodating a single cable. Stop sleeves are used to stop or prevent cable from passing through another fitting or conduit.
Threaded End / Stud | Fitting with a threaded end or stud used to form an end rod on a cable. A nut on the end of the threaded end enables finer adjustments of cable tension or enables a firm attachment to a lever, handle, or actuator member in a control head.
Turnbuckle | Turnbuckle fittings are attach to lengths of cable on either end and are used to adjust the tension in a wire rope or cable system. Turnbuckles have two internally threaded ends, which are used to hold eye bolts, swivel stud fittings or threaded strap fittings.
Socket Fitting | Fitting using a socketing method to attach the fitting to the cable. Wire rope or cable is fed into an opening or socket and locked into place using wedge, adhesive compound or swaging. Swaging requires a specialized compression tool.
Swivel Fitting | Fitting has a swivel that allows the fitting to spin without twisting the cable. Care must be used in selecting the type of cable used with a swivel fitting.
Other | Unlisted, specialized, proprietary, custom or application-specific wire rope or cable fitting type.

Cable Material | |||
Your choices are... | |||
Aluminum | Aluminum is versatile, lightweight, and relatively corrosion-resistant.
Bronze / Copper Alloy | Copper and copper alloys such as bronze and brass have very good corrosion resistance, high electrical and thermal conductivity, and moderate strength. Bronze and copper alloys are used where additional electrical conductivity or grounding is required.
Monel® / Nickel Alloy | Nickel and nickel alloys such as Monel® and Inconel® have excellent corrosion resistance and moderate to high strength. Monel is an alloy of copper and nickel with excellent resistance to salt water corrosion and anti-fouling characteristics. Monel and Inconel are registered trademarks of Special Metals Corporation.
Steel | Steel, a commercial iron that contains carbon in any amount up to about 1.7 percent as an essential alloying constituent, is malleable under suitable conditions and distinguished from cast iron by both its malleability and lower carbon content.
Steel - Galvanized | Wire rope is made from zinc-galvanized steel wire.
Steel - Brass Plated / Copper Clad | Cable wire is brass-plated or copper-clad to improve corrosion resistance, appearance or friction characteristics.
Stainless Steel | Stainless steel is chemical and corrosion resistant and can have relatively high pressure ratings.
Titanium | Titanium is lightweight and provides high strength and superior corrosion resistance.
Specialty / Other | Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary materials.

Jacket | |||
Your choices are... | |||
Metal Jacket / Casing | Cable or wire rope is encased in a metal such as a metal jacket, lockclad (swaged aluminum casing), armored cable, flat wrap, round wrap, wire wrap or braiding and solid metal conduit or tubing. The metal wrap or jacket provides additional surface protection and abrasion resistance.
Plastic Jacket / Coating | Cable or wire rope is encased in a plastic jacket, coating or conduit.
