Compa is a Romanian producer of high-quality components for automotive industry and more. The quality of ifm products is, of course, very important to produce quality products and reliable solutions for their customers and to operate their machines without downtimes.IO-Link technology helps to create a plug & play solution.
"We have developed many projects together so far and of course they will be a supplier we will collaborate with in the future also."
The Robot sensor calibration wizard enables precise control of an object by a robot arm. By means of marker calibration, the coordinate systems of the sensor and the robot are precisely adapted to each other. The following video shows how to perform a calibration of the sensor with a printed pattern and teach the robot coordinates in the VisionAssistant
The wizard for measurement allows determination of contours and surfaces of objects. These can be set in relation to each other and their distance determined as absolute values. The following video shows how to perform a simple calibration of the sensor with a printed pattern via the #ifm VisionAssistant. The target is to map pixels to mm as accurate as possible.

The RAP Confectionery and RAP Tronic Process Engineer rely on automation solutions from ifm: While RAP Confectionery produces confectionery such as chocolate bars, soft sweets and small bites, RAP Tronic Process Engineer manufactures customer-specific process technologies for the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. A joint cooperation has existed for 13 years where several automation solutions from ifm are implemented. A wide range of sensors are used for various processes, such as pressure sensors, temperature sensors, inductive sensors, flow sensors and many others.
The company LEFFEK builds recooling systems for power electronics and electrical engineering, whereby the energy converters in the industrial environment are protected against overheating with powerful cooling systems. In the so-called recooling system sensors from ifm monitor the process and thereby ensure energy-efficient and optimum dissipation of the heat loss. Thanks to their robust design, the sensors installed in the systems can be used in very diverse areas.
For years the ifm pressure sensors of the PI series have proven their worth in the food and beverage industry. But even what is successful can be improved. Pressure changes can now be visualised via IO-Link in high resolution with approximately 20,000 steps.
More power for wet and hygienic areas: permanently ingress-resistant connection, low voltage drop, power connection via daisy chain and central device management. All that is offered by the new L-code duo consisting of IO-Link master and ecolink connection cables.
Draw-wire mechanisms for encoders are the ideal choice when positions must be accurately determined over straight distances. Examples of use range from short distances, for example with scissor lifts or fork lift trucks, to long distances, such as those covered by trolleys on crane booms or transport systems in high-bay warehouses.Advantage
When it comes to beer brewing, tradition and state-of-the-art technology are not mutually exclusive - not at all! Our sensors ensure that the good old brewing recipe according to the purity law will be adhered to in every detail, even in industrial production. And, of course, our automation solutions are just as useful in bottling plants for mineral water, lemonade or fruit juices. Cheers!
Effective protection for fans and engines can be that simple: The VV vibration sensor from ifm detects and reports when vibrations, frictions or impact occur or a machine overheats. Thanks to IO-Link, integration into existing Industry 4.0 infrastructures is very easy.
The implications of Industry 4.0 and the impact it will have on industrial processes around the world will be profound. But guess what? The revolution''s already here. It''s happening. The question is, are you ready to start adopting Industry 4.0 technologies? In this presentation, Dave Delany from ifm Australia, talks about what Industry 4.0 means for small to medium enterprises, and what steps an SME can take to avoid going the way of the dinosaur.
Mine Master Ltd in Wilków has been present on the market for over 40 years, specialising in the manufacture of drilling and anchoring machinery for underground mining. The long-standing cooperation with ifm has resulted in many innovative applications. See for yourself how ifm products perform under extremely difficult conditions underground and how mutual trust and expert technical advice influence the final success of a cooperation.
"Bumar-Koszalin" is a company with over 70 years of tradition and experience. It specialises in the production of fire-fighting lifts and assembly lifts for all types of work at height. Both the construction of the lifts and their external appearance are the result of the work of our own design office. "Bumar-Koszalin"" has been cooperating with ifm electronic Poland for a dozen or so years already, equipping the vehicles prepared by it with various ifm components such as mobile controllers or displays. Everything to support the vehicle operator in his tasks. See for yourself how ifm products perform under extreme conditions and how trust and expert technical advice are crucial for a successful cooperation.
The powerful LW2720 package is completed by the following comfort factors: Sensor installation only takes a few minutes, and sensor parameters can be conveniently set and read out remotely via IO-Link. This video shows what to pay attention to when installing the unit to ensure best performance.
Contour, shape or orientation detection, as well as BLOB analyses - the new O2D performs all these tasks without any difficulty. The unit reliably solves even complex sorting tasks with changing lighting conditions or in harsh industrial environments.
The "Lenne-Werkstatt" charitable institution gives meaningful employment in many fields of activity to around 320 people with disabilities. Whether carpentry, electrical assembly or packaging: many orders come from well-known companies in the region. The ifm mate worker assistance system supports the efficient and correct execution of packaging orders.
The Hohenloher Molkerei dairy uses IO-Link advantages to enable a decentralised installation in their production. This was made possible when an existing valve manifold was replaced by a new one. Implementing IO-Link resulted in a reduction of reaction times for the switching operations of the valves and in savings in terms of compressed air and resources, which altogether leads to a reduction in overall operating costs. The error evaluations and the option to view every valve separately are important features for the dairy as they allow for any problem that might occur to be evaluated in a timely manner

To test whether ifm sensors would still work under these very special and unusual conditions, the hardware was mounted to the foiling sailboat. The peculiarity of these boats is that once they are fast enough, they completely lift out of the water which makes the measuring of the distance between the boat and the surface of the water crucial. To measure the distance, two different level sensors, one radar-based sensor and one ultrasonic sensor were mounted onto the boat. Furthermore, an inclination sensor was used that measures the roll angle which is very important for the crew. All the data from the sensors is gathered and shown live on the display. A modem sends all the data in real-time into the cloud of the ifm mobile IoT suite. Thanks to the hardware, the sailors were able to rely less on their feelings and more on the data. ifm and the sailing sport have in common that teamwork, reliability, and constant technical development are always in focus in order to be successful.
