This video from AdvantaPure showcases the company''s single use, biopharmaceutical grade TPE tubing, AdvantaFlex. Designed to outlast similar tubing in peristaltic pump applications, AdvantaFlex is weldable, heat sealable, and moldable. The video shows the many different connections and fittings into which AdvantaFlex TPE can be molded, such as wyes, tees, reducers, and Tri-Clamp style unions. Container closures for vessels of glass, metal, and plastic are also shown, as well as complete welding and sealing processes. AdvantaFlex''s advantage is that it eliminates silicone tubing sections in process lines to reduce barbed fitting connections and their potential for leaks. AdvantaFlex is free of silicone oils and animal-derived ingredients, complies with USP Class VI, ISO, EP, and FDA standards, and is made in USA. AdvantaPure offers validated sterility and worldwide distribution of AdvantaFlex.

Polyurethane is naturally flexible and exhibits virtually unlimited flexural abilities. Combining good chemical resistance with excellent weathering characteristics sets polyurethane apart from most other thermoplastics. It has exceptional resistance to most gasolines, oils, kerosene, and other petroleum-based chemicals, making PU tubing and hose, also know as PUR tubing and hose, an ideal choice for fuel lines (although additives in today's gasoline and petroleum products warrant field testing). The two basic formulations of urethane, ester and ether, have some important differences. Water attacks ester-based urethane, causing a significant reduction in physical properties. Ether urethanes exhibit far superior hydrolytic stability, especially in humid environments. Ether-based materials also resist fungus growth better than ester-based materials.
Silicone tubing has long been used for medical tubing, as it meets the medical industry's requirements for cleanliness and non-toxicity. Another of silicone's major features - resistance to extreme temperature variations - has enabled its use in applications where a flexible tubing is needed to handle temperatures not possible with other plastics or rubbers.
A rubber-like thermoset material, silicone tubing and hose is extremely pliable and elastic, and it is not altered by the effects of weather. It generally exhibits inertness toward U.V., radiation, and ozone making it an excellent choice for electrically-associa
