The Nova 4230 Process Hydrogen Analyzer has been specifically designed for the accurate measurement of H2 in exothermic or 'DX' gas from a furnace, generator, or other processes with high levels of H2 and CO2. The CO2 acts as an interference to the measurement of Hydrogen when using a thermal conductivity cell (T/C).To correct the H2 reading for the presence of CO2, the 4230 has a separate infra red CO2 detector. Its purpose is to provide the exact amount of corrective signal for the Hydrogen reading, regardless of the furnace or generator conditions. This is a most desirable feature, especially when trying to obtain very accurate hydrogen readings. Some manufacturers attempt to compensate the H2 reading for CO2 by advising the customer to obtain a calibration gas that also contains CO2. This approach is only effective at that particular H2/CO2 ratio. As soon as the process gas H2 level deviates from the calibration H2 level, the readings become more inaccurate. Continuous CO2 compensation is the only effective way to deal with this problem.

The Nova 900 Series analyzers have been designed for monitoring recovered and processed gases from landfill and biogas sites. This equipment continuously removes moisture from the wet sample gas without the need for cooling water, compressed air, or failure-prone thermoelectric elements. The 900 Series comes complete with pre-filter, sample pump, flow meter, compression-style moisture removal system, H2S filter, PTFE liquid block, long-life O2 sensor, infrared CO2/CH4 detector, low flow sensor, alarm relay contacts, and 4-20mA outputs for each gas measured. The sensors are mounted in a temperature controlled heated box to reduce drift due to ambient temperature swings. On the B ('Cal Now') and C (Full Autocalibration) models, all calibration functions are controlled through the display rather than manual potentiometers. The C model includes additional helpful information for effective analyzer preventative maintenance. The C model has timed alerts that will appear on the display when a filter is ready to be changed. The alert can either be 'Accepted' if the filter is changed, or 'Acknowledged' if there is no immediate need. Regular maintenance of filters are critical to the long term reliability of the analyzer. Diagnostics and troubleshooting information are also included in the display interface of the B and C models. This assists operators to quickly determine the cause of an alarm and get the analyzer back on-line. Spare part numbers relevant to the alarm are included in the display.

The Nova 8000 series has been designed for the continuous monitoring of pre-cleaned gases from a blast furnace or other high intensity, continuous industrial processes. The analyzer measures up to four gases simultaneously - O2, CO, CO2, and H2, the ranges of which are shown below. From these readings, other operating parameters such as nitrogen content, BTU and efficiency can be calculated and displayed. The analyzer consists of three main components : a heated filter cabinet which is directly mounted on the side of the blast furnace gas main, a sample conditioning system which is integral to the main analyzer cabinet, and the gas analysis sensors which are mounted in a separate but integral rack mount drawer, which eases service and maintenance.Other gases can be included as part of this platform, including CH4, SO2, NO, and NO2 in % or PPM ranges.

The Nova Model 7200-1-F1 flue gas analyzer is specifically designed for use on the flue gases from combustion processes burning gaseous fuels.Sample Gas is drawn into the analyzer from the sampling probe, then pumped through a condensate removal system. Any condensate formed collects and is purged as it reaches a limit. Next, the dried sample gas is filtered again and then flows through a PTFE liquid block, calibration gas valves, pressure regulator, flow meter then on to the gas detector. The 7200-1-F1 analyzer features an electrochemical sensor, paramagnetic sensor or zirconia sensor for detecting % levels of O2, a digital readout and an output for the O2 channel. The 7200-1-F1 analyzer is multi-sample point capable (consult Nova).

The Nova 350 Series Portable Flue Gas Analyzer has been designed for accuracy, reliability, ease of use and ease of service. It uses customer replaceable sensors which respond quickly to the Oxygen (O2) and combustibles present in the flue gas sample. The sensor life expectancy is between 2 and 3 years. In operation, a built in sample pump draws in the flue gas sample through the stainless steel probe, 12 ft. (4 m) sample hose, condensate removal filter, secondary filter, flowmeter, then on to the oxygen and combustibles sensors. The detected O2 and combustibles are displayed on LCD digital meters which have a switchable backlight for use in dark areas. A built in air makeup system ensures that the combustibles detector will always have sufficient O2 for proper operation regardless of sample O2 content. A rechargeable battery provides enough power for about 6 hours of continuous operation and the analyzer can be used while it is being recharged. A red LED tells when to recharge and a green LED verifies that it is receiving recharging power. The recharger is included. The Nova 350T indicates stack temperature for doing fuel efficiency calculations. The temperature sensor is built into the sampling probe. Efficiency charts for each fuel are provided.

The Nova 7900 Series Heat Treat Analyzer System utilizes high stability infrared detectors for the simultaneous measurement of CO, CO2, and CH4. In addition, the analyzer can also be supplied with a non-consumable, long life thermal conductivity cell for hydrogen that is compensated for the interference effects of CO, CO2, and CH4. This ensures that Hydrogen will always read correctly regardless of the background gas composition. A long life electrochemical sensor is used for PPM or % O2 analysis. In most cases, sensors are installed in a temperature controlled box to improve reading accuracy. All detected gases have a separate digital readout and linear recorder output. Various versions available for either exothermic or endothermic mixtures, or for other industrial process gases.

The Nova Model 7900P Series Heat Treat analyzers utilize a three channel high stability infrared detector for the simultaneous measurement of CO, CO2, and CH4 in exothermic or endothermic gas mixtures. In addition, the analyzer can be supplied with a fully compensated thermal conductivity cell for H2. A separate O2 detector can also be supplied for measuring low (PPM) or percent levels of oxygen in the atmosphere gas stream. Dew point is detected by a dielectric ceramic sensor and is available in standard and low ranges. All detected gases have a separate LCD digital readout and a linear recorder output. The customer may choose any combination of gases to be measured. The 7900P series analyzers are complete with integral sampling pump, rechargeable battery, filters, flow meter, and sampling hose. Solenoid valves are used to isolate low range dew point and O2 sensors during purges and when analyzer is not in use to prevent ambient air contamination of the sensors and greatly reduce purge time during start-up.

The Nova 430DPL analyzer utilizes a temperature-controlled T/C cell for the detection of H2 in process gas. This cell produces a small millivoltage output which is directly proportional to the H2 detected. This output is then amplified and displayed on a digital readout meter and is also available as a recorder output. The analyzer can be supplied with a pump or pressure regulator depending on customer requirement. For dew point, the 430DPL has a capacitive ceramic sensor. The output of this sensor is directly proportional to the dew point of the sample gas. After the sample gas has been analyzed for H2 and dew point, both signals are amplified and displayed on digital meters and are provided as voltage or current outputs for recording.
