The center drive machine USC 27 stands for efficiency. Its capability to simultaneously complete-machine both sides of coupling sleeves and tool joints with international threads like API and GOST or threads of proprietary standard impresses people in the industry. The machine base is made of the high-quality polymer granite MINERALIT®, a material of outstanding damping quality. The EMAG 4-station flat-bed turrets are mounted on the compound slides to the right and left of the center drive headstock. The high rapid traverse speeds of the compound slides and the automatic workhandling system reduce idle times to a minimum. Rapid-reaction, frequency-controlled, maintenance-free AC motors and high-precision ground ball screws control the movement of the slides on their linear guideways.

The Model 160 hobbing machine combines current technological advancements and an innovative design along with generations of KOEPFER gear cutting experience. With eight axes of CNC-control the latest generation 160 gear hobbing machine opens new possibilities for the true high-speed machining of gears. The machine is based on the KOEPFER design concept of symmetrical distribution of cutting forces without any cantilever effects on the guideways. The machine bed is a composite epoxy material which provides the highest static, dynamic and thermal stability. High accuracy gear cutting is accomplished with KOEPFER´s symmetrical design, the use of preloaded dampened linear roller bearing packs, and a new tailstock concept.

The Model 200 hobbing machine combines current technology with maximum versatility and flexibility. With a minimum of eight active NC axes, the fully automated Model 200 allows for all possible gear cutting requirements to be achieved. It does not matter whether the workpieces are loaded manually or with flexible automation systems, the Model 200 hobbing machine is the answer to the increasing variety of products, accompanied by decreasing in lot sizes and the demand for a rapid reaction to customer demands. The fully automatic machining of gears and pinions, worm gears and worms, even in small quantities, is a reality.

The Model 300 hobbing machine combines the latest advancements in machine technology with maximum versatility and flexibility in an area of only 8 m2. The 9 CNC controlled axes on Model 300 allow all possible gear cutting applications to be accomplished. The machine bed is a composite epoxy material that incorporates roller bearing slides in all linear motion axes. This provides the highest static, dynamic and thermal stability. A closed box machine design prevents deflection of the tailstock due to high clamping pressures and cutting forces. The unique KOEPFER design concept of symmetrical distribution of cutting forces ensures a long machine life with consistent part quality. The slant design of the hob head allows optimum chip flow for dry or wet cutting.

VLC 250 WF - turning, gear hobbing and deburring. The VLC 250 WF is designed for the machining of gear-type workpieces of up to 230 mm in diameter and module 4. The VLC 250 WF offers the user flexibility, as it can be used as a single-spindle turning machine, a hobbing machine, or a combination of both. Its main range of application is the precision machining of medium and large batches of gear profiles.

The KFS series is designed for the sharpening of straight and helix fluted gear hobs in HSS and carbide.

The USC series’ most distinctive feature is its rigid machine construction. All machine modules are mechanically very stable, down to the machine base in MINERALIT® (polymer granite). External as well as all internal machining operations can be carried out on a single machine. This concept makes the USC ideal for the complete-machining of all common threads to API and GOST standards, as well as all proprietary threads. The main drive of the tube machining center forms an integral part of the spindle unit and guarantees high power and torque ratings. The direct drive consists of a highly dynamic, frequency-controlled, maintenance-free AC asynchronous spindle motor. The tubes are safely clamped in pneumatically, hydraulically or mechanically operated front- and rear-end chucks.
