Blackstone-Ney Ultrasonics has perfected an ultrasonic cleaning tank for use with Class 1, Div. 1 Group D, T3 solvents. The HT-IPA is designed for small parts cleaning applications in which a flammable solvent is required. The HT IPA is currently available in two sizes that are independently certified by ETL ( Electronics Testing Laboratories).

Benchtop ultrasonic cleaning tanks provide a cost effective way to introduce the power of ultrasonics into any parts washing process. These portable and self-contained ultrasonic cleaning tanks are equipped with electric heat and operate from readily available electrical supplies. They are offered in a variety of standard sizes that range from 2 gallons to 58 gallons and can be engineered for custom applications as well. They offer flexibility in all types of parts cleaning processes including those requiring Class 1, Div. Group D solvents.

Many of the ultrasonic PROHT cleaning tanks may be configured to include; filtration, surface sparging, oil skimming, timed controls, agitation and other optional features. Companion parts washer units including rinsing and rinse tank drying modules are also available.

Our standard line of cabinet washers are available with turntable sizes ranging in diameters from 18" to 72", and with standard work heights (over the turntable) of 72”. How to determine if your burr can be removed using high pressure water:

Lead Pencil Test

• Extend a 0.5mm mechanical lead pencil so that 1/8” lead is showing
• If you can break off the burr with the pencil without breaking the lead then high pressure water can remove your burr.

Ultrasonic transducer elements sealed in a liquid-tight housing are an option to transducer elements permanently bonded to the side or bottom of a cleaning tank. The major benefits of immersible ultrasonic transducers are that they are easy to service and can be added to existing equipment, often without extensive tank modifications. All of Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics unique technology is offered in the immersible transducer format. This includes standard individual frequencies from 25 kHz to 270 kHz as well as multiple frequencies in a single or multiple units. Patented dualSWEEP^® and upSWEEP^® functions are included.

Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics immersible transducers are intended to withstand the abuse unavoidable in a heavy industrial environment. Standard units are constructed of heavy gauge 316L stainless steel with other materials available for use in challenging process applications. Units are pre-tested prior to sealing to assure that all transducer elements are performing exactly to specification. Once sealed by full penetration welding, the finished units are function tested in liquid for a minimum of 24 hours prior to shipping.

Blackstone-NEY immersible ultrasonic transducers are powered by Blackstone-NEY proprietary ultrasonic generators. In installations of large numbers of transducers, Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics generators can each provide up to 2,000 watts of ultrasonic power each reducing the number of generators required by as much as half. Multiple generators can be integrated in a common electrical enclosure. Cooling and environmental protection can be included if required.

The megasonic generator offered by Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics is rated at a total capacity of 2400 Watts output (sweeping and non-sweeping) and is built into a package conveniently designed for mounting in a 19" 2U rack. The generator is comprised of two internal modules each producing up to 900 watts of continuous wave output. Each module provides independent impedance and frequency compensation to optimize performance of its segment of the overall attached transducer array.

Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics offers arrays for single and dual 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 300mm and 450mm process baths or engineered to process an application. Arrays come in a multitude of materials for chemical and purity requirements, 316L electropolished stainless steel, ETFE coated, and other materials upon request.

Designed to fit into your work cell area or a smaller production environment, the Rotary Basket immersion cleaning systems offered by Ransohoff clean using a washing and rinsing process with agitation, spray impingement, rotation, hydraulic purging through immersion, and heated blow-off drying. With this totally enclosed self-ventilating process the operator is not exposed to vapors or mists found in other cleaning processes.

As a standard design, these cell washers process parts in industry standard Kadon style basket designed to hold and protect your delicate parts during the entire cleaning process. Our carriages can be modified to accommodate your current baskets or new, custom fixtures.

Ransohoff's immersion cleaning process is superior to other cleaning systems because only filtered wash and rinse solution enters the cleaning chamber. Your cleaned parts are never subjected to the dirty, unfiltered wash or rinse solutions associated with turbulated dip tank style systems.

Signal Frequency

Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics manufactures two generators for use at single frequencies of 25 kHz through 104 kHz. The Neptune®D powers both 25 kHz and 40 kHz Blackstone-NEY transducers. The sweepSONIK®3 generator powers Blackstone-NEY transducers at frequencies of 40 kHz, 72 kHz or 104 kHz. Power control is standard on both generators and allows power adjustment from 10 to 100 percent of the rated output of the generator. Both models include self-diagnostic data output and safety features.

Both the Neptune®D and the sweepSONIK®3 are built on the Blackstone-NEY Ultrasonics “2K” platform and can deliver up to 2,000 watts of ultrasonic power to matching transducer configurations. The “2K” platform delivers the most compact, energy efficient and cost-effective ultrasonic performance in the industry. Both incorporate patented dualSWEEP® and upSWEEP® technology which provide several benefits:

With dualSWEEP® the ultrasonic frequency is varied at an ever-changing rate to prevent possible part damage due to resonance at either the ultrasonic frequency or the sweep frequency. The dualSWEEP® feature also helps assure cavitation uniformity by eliminating standing waves and has been demonstrated to speed recovery of active cavitation between disturbances to the ultrasonic field during the insertion and removal of parts for cleaning. Both the sweep bandwidth and the frequency are optimized for each generator/transducer combination. The rate of particle removal in critical cleaning applications is benefitted by upSWEEP® which tailors the rate of sweep in preference of moving particles to the top of the cleaning tank for removal by overflow. In larger tanks and high power applications using multiple generators, operation of the generators is synchronized to prevent the generation of “beat” frequencies which can also cause harmful part resonance.
