Product Description: The MFPE modulating fan-powered economizer (fka IPVB-ECO) is a mechanical draft fan that integrates a flue gas economizer. It is used in conjunction with any type of gas-fired boilers and water heaters where heat recovery is desired. It is installed in the chimney flue system where it can be exposed to the hot flue gases and still ensure a mechanical draft (negative pressure) in the entire chimney or stack system. For optimal performance the fan speed can be controlled by a modulating pressure control (EBC 12 or EBC 30/35).
The MFPE 620CU is for use with non-condensing appliances at flue gas temperatures of max. 575°F (302°C). It is very suitable for use with atmospheric, fan-assisted and forced draft heating appliances. Typical uses are: mechanical venting of gas-fired boilers and water heaters. For indoor installation.
The MFPE is typically used in applications with a single modulating heating appliance or with multiple heating appliances utilizing a single chimney flue. It is extremely suitable for low-to-mid efficiency boilers equipped with a draft hood or a draft diverter. These units can not utilize a flue gas economizer without mechanical draft.
The MFPE is an efficient, high-temperature fan with backward-inclined impeller. The stainless steel fan housing is equipped with an energy-efficient, totally enclosed, variable speed motor, which is mounted outside the air stream. The motor and impeller is a complete assembly (drive unit) that can be removed from the fan housing without removing the fan from the stack system. The stack connections are flanged and fit most commercial pre-fabricated chimney systems.
The economizer is an integrated part of the fan housing placed on the inlet side. The economizer is a thermal counterflow design to assure the highest possible heat recovery. It can be removed through an access panel for easy servicability.
The MFPE 620CU is a component in the ENERVEX EcoFlex90+, Modulating Fan-Powered Economizer System.
