The Saddle Turbine Series of Insertion Flowmeters are designed for measuring liquid flow in 2″, 3″ and 4″ diameter pipes with accuracies inherent in the flowmeter at a substantially lower price than in-line flowmeters. Designed for installation in metal, composite or plastic piping, the Saddle Series is an economical alternative to full-bore, in-line flow liquid flowmeters while providing good measurement performance in a rugged package. The rotor and signal housing is interchangeable for 2″, 3″ and 4″ sizes in order to maximize its flexibility and requires only a change in the saddle fixture to change from one size to the next. The use of 316 stainless steel for the housing insert, 17-4 pH for the rotor, hard carbon composite sleeve bearings and PVC installation saddles also enable the meter to be used in a variety of liquid services.

Hoffer now has available a 4” WECO 1502 turbine flow meter (15 KSI MAWP) with the full flow capacity of a conventional 4” flow meter. Other 4” WECO 1502 turbine meter designs have been limited in flow range to a few hundred GPM. The Hoffer design has a flow capacity of 75 to 1250
GPM standard and 50 to 1500 GPM over an extended range.

Made from high strength A-286 austenitic stainless steel, the meter body is rated to a full 15,000 PSIG for conventional service and 10,000 PSIG for sour service. The new size is an extension to the very successful Hoffer Wing Nut Meter Series (1” to 3” sizes) used extensively in oil and gas well servicing and reflects Hoffer’s
commitment to meeting new customer needs.

The unique design of Hoffer’s Oval Gear meter incorporates two SMOOTH (toothless) oval gears 90 degrees out of phase. The measurement gears are held together by two timing gears. The timing gears have a pitch diameter equal to the outside diameter of the measurement gears. The flow through the meter measurement chamber follows the path of least resistance. Therefore no liquid passes through the center cavity between the measurement gears.

The Hoffer TriFlo provides both system integrators and operators with the most flexible measurement solutions for liquid flow including produced water flow and hydrocarbon condensate flow measurement. The Hoffer TriFlomter provides complete interchangeability of components between three different sizes of flow meters (1″, 1½” and 2″), all of which can be accessed without having to break piping connections. The TriFlo’s are offered both with complete inline meter bodies and in OEM versions which allow the integrator/manufacturer to install the meters into their own piping system.
