Machined metal seals are designed to meet applications with high temperatures or cryogenics, high pressures, full vacuum, very corrosive chemicals and penetrating levels of radiation.
Offering lower leakage rates than molded metal sealing solutions, machined seals do not require molds to be developed, reducing this cost and lead-time.
The advantages of machined seals over molded metal seals become even more apparent during rapid development. Mold development lead-time and the subsequent amortizing of mold charges for the few parts needed to develop a solution, make a machined seal a more effective solution.
This freedom to choose a CNC machined seal also translates into existing molded seal solutions. Most any molded seal can be replaced with an outperforming machined seal.
