A mating pair of ASA flanges is made up of a smooth faced flange and a grooved flange. A Viton O-ring of a size appropriate for the diameter and depth of the groove forms a vacuum seal when the two mating flanges are bolted together. ASA O-rings and bolts are not included with flanges and must be purchased separately.
