• Sliding coating of metal/metal combinations with slow to moderately fast movements and high loads.
• Suitable for improving the running-in of gearboxes, sliding bearings and sliding guides.
• Maintenance-free, permanent lubrication of highly stressed friction combinations with low speeds or oscillating operation, in which the use of oil or grease, for design construction reasons is not possible, or because of the unacceptable risk of soiling.
• For running-in car transmission shafts, for the maintenance-free, permanent, non-soiling lubrication of threaded sleeves of car seat adjusting mechanisms, and for the cold working of steel.

Heat cure coating for high loads with good corrosion protection and very good chemicals resistance

MOLYKOTE® 7409 Bonded Lubricantis a dispersion of solid lubricants in an organic resin-solvent system. When applied to metal surfaces it forms an extremely adherent, dry film with excellent corrosion-preventing properties and an operating temperature range of -70 to 380°C (-94 to 716°F). The solid lubricants provide a low coefficient of friction and high load-carrying capacity under conditions where conventional lubricants are ineffective or undesirable.

MOLYKOTE 7409 Bonded Lubricant is one of a range of bonded lubricants available from Dow Corning, each of which has been designed to meet particular handling, processing and operating conditions.

• Used successfully for pawls of safety cut-outs, carburetor springs, lorry coupling sleeves, toothed gears and parts of car safety belts and car-boot lock parts.

Extremely pure, solid lubricant paste for bolted joints. It contains no lead, nickel, sulphur, chlorine or fluorine

APPLICATIONS

• Suitable for screws, nuts and bolts that are subjected to extremely high temperatures and which are made of heat-resistant or extremely heat resistant steels, eg those made from nickel-based alloys.
• Used successfully for the bolted joints of gas and steam turbines in powerstations.

Molykote® Cu-7439 is a long term lubricant for machine components which are exposed to high loads, high temperatures and corrosive environments. Applications

Molykote® G-n Metal Assembly Paste lubricates surfaces subjected to extreme pressures. Specific applications include:

• Running-in lubricant - for new or rebuilt equipment, such as gears, splines, journal bearings, cams and ways

Applications

• Suitable for bolted joints that are subjected to high temperatures up to 650C and to corrosive effects, and which, after assembling and the initial operation, have to be re-tightened or disconnected. In order to ensure constant pre-stressing forces, uniform and steady coefficients of friction of the lubricant are necessary.
• Used successfully for cylinder head bolts, nozzle head screws of plastic injection molding machines, bolt joints in the chemical industry, and also for the tension rings of centrifuges.

Solid lubricating paste with particularly low friction coefficient for assembly and running-in of metallic components

Applications

• Suitable for the press-fit production of all types of machine elements, as a running-in lubricant for new machines and gears, as permanent lubrication of machine elements which are submitted to slight or intermittent movement only, as well as for drilling, sawing and thread-cutting.

• Used successfully for stud bolts of gas and steam turbines, stud bolts of turbochargers of diesel engines, flanged connections in chemical and petrochemical plants.
