Nomex® 818 (50% mica) is designed for high-voltage applications, including: motor conductor and coil wrap, and transformer ground and layer insulation. It has high inherent dielectric strength (30 kV/mm [760 V/mil] to 40 kV/mm [1,015 V/mil]), but can also be readily impregnated with varnishes when desired. Nomex® 818 offers increased voltage endurance compared to Nomex® 410.

Nomex® 818 is available in thicknesses ranging from 0.08 mm (3 mil) to 0.25 mm (10 mil).

Nomex® 843S is designed for high voltage applications for slot outer corona protection, also known as conductive tape, on stator coils and bars in high voltage motor and generators , as well as for application in high voltage cable insulation.  It contains carbon fibers that allow the material to be electrically conductive.  Nomex® 843S has high thermal resistance, good abrasion resistance and good mechanical strength.  It is designed for up to thermal class 220°C and is optimized for impregnation with varnishes when desired.

Nomex® 843 is available only in a 0.05-mm (2-mil) thickness.

Nomex® 864 LAM is designed to address the increasing need for partial discharge resistance of inverter-driven motor insulation and to support the growing trend toward thinner insulation materials.  This lamination-grade paper is ideal for thin corona-resistant slot liners.  Laminates based on Nomex® 864 LAM can offer higher endurance to voltage stress occurring in inverter-driven motors or transformers associated with converters.  Common laminate constructions based on Nomex® 864 LAM are Type NMN and Type NKN.

Nomex® 864 LAM is available in thicknesses: 0.05-mm (2-mil) and 0.08-mm (3-mil).

Nomex® 910 is a unique aramid enhanced cellulose material, composed of high quality electrical grade cellulose pulp and the same binder made from high temperature meta-aramid polymer as used in other Nomex® brand papers. The paper consists of a single consolidated sheet without any additional binders or additives.

DuPont™ Nomex® Type 926 is a strong, high-dielectric, thermally-stable paper that is specifically designed for use as conductor insulation in liquid-immersed transformers. Type 926 is not appropriate for use as conductor insulation for dry type transformers. Initially, Type 926 is available only in a 0.05-mm (2-mil) thickness.

Type 992 PSB is a low-density pressboard which is designed for applications requiring a combination of electrical, mechanical and forming characteristics, such as barrier, gap spacers, end fillers, core tubes, and coil yokes. Nonelectrical applications include thermal barriers and gaskets. Type 992 offers a balance of superior formability, outstanding saturability and strong thermal performance, along with good electrical properties. This cost-effective pressboard product should only be used where the superior electrical properties of Type 993 are not required. Type 992 is available in two thicknesses – 1.6 and 3.2 mm (63 and 125 mil).

Type 994 PSB is a densified, rigid board which has a unique combination of superior resistance to compression, even at elevated temperatures, along with relatively high oil absorption characteristics. This combination results in a product which is especially useful as spacers or other structural components in liquid-filled systems. With a specific gravity ranging from 1.1 to 1.2, Type 994 pressboard is available in 14 thicknesses from 1.0 to 9.6 mm (40 to 380 mils).

Nomex® 356

Nomex® 356 is a medium density paper that exhibits properties that are midway between Nomex® 410 and Nomex® 411. Designed for use as layer insulation within transformers and as phase insulation in hand-wound motors, it could also be used effectively as electrical and thermal barriers in appliance and electronic equipment applications. Nomex® 356 is produced in six thicknesses ranging from 0.13 mm (5 mil) to 0.51 mm (20 mil), with densities ranging from 0.66 g/cc to 0.68 g/cc.

Nomex® 410 is used in almost every known sheet insulation application.  This high-density product has high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and resilience.  It is produced in thicknesses ranging from 0.05 mm (2 mil) to 0.76 mm (30 mil), with specific gravities ranging from 0.7 to 1.2.

Nomex® 411 is a lower-density version of Nomex® 410.  It is available in thicknesses ranging from 0.13 mm (5 mil) to 0.58 mm (23 mil), with a specific gravity of 0.3 and correspondingly lower electrical and mechanical properties. It is used in applications such as motor phase insulation and transformer coil end filler, where high bulk and conformability are of prime importance, along with increased impregnability and saturability.

Nomex® 414 is electrically and thermally similar to Nomex® 410, but it is manufactured to produce a strong but more flexible and conformable sheet with an open surface.  It is produced in thicknesses ranging from 0.18 mm (7 mil) to 0.38 mm (15 mil), with specific gravities ranging from 0.9 to 1.0.  It is designed for use as slot insulation in hand-wound motors, for linear wrapping of wire, and as main insulation for dry-type transformers where conformability and impregnability are required.

Nomex® 416 LAM is a paper designed for use in electrical flexible laminate insulation.  It is produced in three thicknesses:  0.05 mm (2 mil), 0.08 mm (3 mil) and 0.13 mm (5 mil).  Nomex® based laminates are used to create high-integrity electrical insulation for motors, generators and transformers.  Several laminate constructions exist.  The most common are NM and NMN, where Nomex® paper and polyester film are used; and NK or NKN, where Nomex® paper and polyimide film are used.

Nomex® 464 LAM is a lightweight paper compared to Nomex® 416 LAM, but is intended for the same use in electrical flexible laminate insulation.  It is available in 0.05 mm (2 mil).  Similar laminate constructions can be found in the market, with either polyester film or polyimide film, depending on the thermal requirements of the application.
