Vulcan offers two types of thermistors. Thermistor Elements is the simplest form of thermistor. Compact in size, these elements are commonly used when space is very limited. A wide variety of thermistor elements, which vary not only in form factor but also in their resistance versus temperature characteristics. Because thermistors are non-linear, the instrument used to read the temperature must linearize the reading. Linear Response Thermistor Elements are available for applications that require a thermistor with linear response to temperature change, consisting of a thermistor composite for temperature sensing and an external resistor composite for linearizing.

They can be factory calibrated to your precise requirements or with the optional ITPT PKIT-2 programming module and PC based software, recalibration can be done in the field within your specific application. These units are completely self-contained and tamperproof and are available with a variety of terminations such as an M12 male receptacle, Teflon leads, armor or stainless steel over-braid.

The transmitter electronics are hermetically sealed, providing superior moisture resistance compared to conventional field transmitter assemblies, especially in challenging environments such as process pipe systems.
