The OME-DB-889D is an expansion multiplexer/amplifier board for use with OME-PCI-1800 series families. Each OME-DB-889D multiplexes 16 differential analog input channels into one analog input of the DAS board. The high grade instrumentation amplifier provides software programmable gains of 0.5 , 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000. Thermocouple measurements are handled easily with the OME-DB-889D. The board includes cold-junction sensing and compensation circuitry that provides a scaling of 24.4 mV/°C. Biasing resistors are included for open thermocouple detection. The OME-DB-889D can be cascaded to a total of 128 channels of voltage measurements or 112 channels of thermocouple measurement.
The OME-DB-889D has two 37-pin D-sub connectors and two 20-pin headers. One D-sub connector gets connected to the A/D board’s analog input connector while the other D-sub connector can be used to cascade to another OME-DB-889D multiplexer. The 20-pin header is the multiplexer’s control logic circuit. One of the 20-pin headers is connected to the A/D board's digital output port via 20-pin flat cable. The other 20-pin header is used to cascade to another OME-DB-889D multiplexer.

The CIO-EXP16 and CIO-EXP32, respectively, are 16 and 32 channel analog signal multiplexers. These accessory boards, designed for the CIO-DAS08 and CIO-DAS16 cards, can also be used with virtually any A/D board in a variety of multiplexing applications. The CIO-EXP16 multiplexers 16 inputs into a single A/D board channel. The CIO-EXP32 is virtually two CIO-EXP16's, capable of multiplexing 32 inputs into two A/D channels. The A/D card selects the MUX input channel by sending a 4-bit binary value representing that channel. Digital output lines on the A/D card perform this function.

The DRA-RTM-8 is a 16 channel analog multiplexer. Eight channels accept 3-wire 100 Ohm Pt RTD inputs, and the other eight channels accept 4-20 mA process inputs. All 16 inputs are multiplexed into a single 4-20 mA current loop output. The selection function is performed via four binary control lines generated by the host controller (PLC program). Model DRA-RTM-8 is an all solid state unit that multiplexes the input channels at a switching time of less than 20 microseconds. Each of the RTD inputs is completely signal conditioned including a 6 dip-switch array for coarse channel ranging as well as zero and span trimmers on the front panel for fine ranging. Special attention is given to the lead length compensation parameter because, unlike ordinary transmitters, the DRA-RTM-8 could be mounted relatively far from the RTD sensors. The 4-20 mA output from the DRA-RTM-8 is linearized to the RTD input. The DRA-RTM-8’s superb accuracy and simple operation make it a very attractive unit allowing tremendous cost savings by reducing the need for expensive PLC or data acquisition analog inputs.

The advantage of a card cage is that you can select which I/O modules to install as needed to build a customized system. The instruNet card cage typically has one A/D measurement module and additional modules provide signal conditioning. The conditioned analog signal is routed to the A/D module via the backplane. This is dramatically different from comparable systems which place A/D measurement electronics on each module.

The DRA-MDM-11 is a mux/demux system which transfers analog information accurately via a single pair of wires. The multiplexer unit (DRA-M-11) accepts up to sixteen 4-20 mA process current inputs. The multiplexed inputs are transferred to the demultiplexer unit (DRA-DM-11) at a scan rate of up to 1000 channels/sec up to a distance of 2 kilometers (1.2 miles). At the demultiplexer the current outputs are reproduced in the same order and magnitude as the inputs. The demultiplexer is provided with an alarm (flashing LED and dry contact output) which is operated whenever there is any interruption in communication due to mux failure, cable discontinuity or short-circuit. Use of the DRA-MDM-11 mux/demux system enables a considerable reduction in cabling costs for a new installation or considerable expansion of analog data transfer capability in an existing installation.

The DRA-CSM-1 Current Multiplexer is a solid state multiplexer capable of transferring the selected 4-20 mA input current signal to the output terminals in less than 10 microseconds at an accuracy better than 0.01%. The DRA-CSM-1 is typically controlled by a PLC thereby obtaining full data synchronization. The DRA-CSM-1 is provided with a unit enable/disable control line which enables the parallel connection of several multiplexers to the same controller input. The period during which the unit is disabled is used for self-testing according to a self-test procedure which checks the unit's hardware. Model DRA-CSM-1 is powered by an external DC power supply. Each two-wire 4-20 mA transmitter is connected to the input terminals. Each channel provides a current limited voltage supply for the connected two-wire transmitter. The channel selected by the multiplexer is directed to the control device's (e.g., PLC's) analog inputs. Power is maintained by the multiplexer to the unselected channels thereby maintaining uninterrupted transmitter current flow. Each 4-20 mA input channel on the multiplexer has its own red LED status light which illuminates on presence of current in the loop.

The OM-LGR-5327 features up to ±30V analog inputs, 200 kS/s sampling, four quadrature encoder inputs, and multi-channel trigger modes. The OM-LGR-5329 includes all the functionality of the OM-LGR-5327 plus isolated digital inputs.

The OM-CP-ULTRASHOCK-EB is a battery powered, stand alone temperature, pressure, humidity and 3-axis shock recorder which offers a battery life of up to 60 days typical. The unit measures and records temperature, pressure and humidity at the selected reading rates, while shock is recorded as the peak acceleration levels over the same interval.
