Hicksville, NY - January 13, 2015 – Hicksville, NY – Today, Quality Bearings & Components (QBC) brand of Designatronics, Inc. announced availability of BETEX® MF Induction Heaters, enabling repair operations of the rail industry to easily dismantle the inner rings, NU-NJ bearings and labyrinth rings when servicing truck axels.

QBC offers an economical complete turnkey solution for repair operations as this induction heater will assist with both the mounting and dismounting process. The customizable solution is available in either 22 or 44 kW versions. Each unit includes a temperature controlled heating element which eliminates overheating and switches off automatically when the preset temperature is reached. With short heating times and no oil, gas or pre-heating required, the unit is energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The unit is air cooled and there are no polluting fumes, fire hazards, excessive noise or residual magnetism.

“The MF Induction Heater can be customized as a complete turnkey package,” says Kathy Lantier, QBC Bearings, “that includes installation and employee training, thereby reducing costs associated with self-installation and training.”

Each unit comes supplied with a trolley so that it can be easily and quickly relocated to any area within the shop.

These units are also suitable for use in the steel industry. The MF Induction Heater can be used to dismantle the inner rings and sleeves in a rolling mill. The same units can dismantle the bearing sleeves in paper mills or other printing environments.

Companies which have already installed QBC’s BETEX® MF Induction Heaters include Bombardier, Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, SEW Eurodrive and MTA/LIRR.
