The reuse of industrial wastewater and chemical solutions is undeniably one of the key paths towards a more sustainable approach for water management. Crystar® ceramic membranes were engineered for the most difficult water filtration applications in terms of temperature, corrosiveness, and load. Their outstanding chemical and thermal stabilities make them the perfect choice to handle hot caustic, aggressive acids or strongly oxidizing chemicals.

The tubular crossflow carrier construction in silicon carbide combined with the well-engineered membrane layers offer a unique trade-off between productivity and retention efficiency. Last but not least, Crystar membranes are not sensitive to fast temperature variations (thermal shock) and have excellent mechanical and abrasion resistances.

Key features:

  • pH range: 0 to 14
  • Maximal temperature: 300°C
  • Log removal value > 5 for bacteria (250nm membrane, without the use of coagulants)
  • Excellent water polishing: silt density index (SDI) < 2
  • Permeation fluxes for highly loaded wastewater: 100 to 500 liters/hour/m2 of filtration area
