PEP participants, whether committed to a full year on campus or an evening of listening, are plugged into world-class thinking and intellectual rigor. Advanced Study Program (ASP) Choose among MIT’s thousands of courses and learn with MIT faculty and students. One or more semesters; full or part time. MIT credit and certificates awarded upon completion. Midcareer Acceleration Program (MAP) Educational and career development program designed for professionals who wish to reenter their fields. Ten-month, part-time program includes a fall semester course plus an internship or research project. Professional Institute (PI) Intensive courses for professional audiences on advanced topics. MIT faculty lead one-to-five day sessions on campus. More than 40 courses, usually in the summer, earn certificates and CEUs. Offerings include biotechnology, chemical engineering, energy, data modeling and analysis, IT, lean fundamentals, mechanical & electrical engineering, nanotechnology, nuclear systems, lasers & optics, technology policy, system architecture and other topics of vital interest to today’s engineers and scientists.
