ROD-L Electronics, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets test equipment and services that help identify potential hazards and defects in electrical products and components. The company products include hipot testers, ground bond testers, insulation resistance testers, leakage current testers, and related accessories. These products test and help assure product safety and regulatory agency compliance for electrical utility powered products, such as data processing, office productivity, home appliance, medical, telecommunications, electric motors, transformers, cables, and other electrical products or components that abide by the electrical-safety standards set by UL, BSI, VDE, FCC, CSA, and other safety and regulatory agencies.
ROD-L has also worked in collaboration with engineering talent from AT&T, HP, IBM, Tektronix, Xerox, Stanford, and UC Berkeley to pioneer a number of innovations in the industry, including the first hipot and electrical-safety testers with electronically-controlled voltage ramp-ups, variable ramp-rates, real current monitoring, two-millisecond safety-shutdowns, and ten-microsecond arc detection. And ROD-L produced the first hipot testers deemed safe enough to win UL approval, a Consumer Product Safety Award, and insurability by the Chubb & Son Insurance Company. ROD-L was founded by technology visionary Roy Clay, Sr. in 1977 and it is headquartered in Mountain View, CA.
