Overview

This webinar will be broadcasted at 9 am New York, 6 am Los Angeles, 3 pm Berlin.

Electric motors are used everywhere, and once you can control the speed and other parameters, a large number of end customer advantages become available. But controlling motion is an expert topic that can efficiently be addressed with Infineon's iMOTIONTM controllers and CIPOSTM intelligent power modules.

This presentation addresses the most important motor drive requirements, and offers system solutions that allow easy and seamless implementation of an efficient, robust and cost-effective variable-speed drive within a short timeframe. The flexibility of Infineon's iMOTIONTM controllers enables easy and quick configuration for many use cases, while the CIPOSTM intelligent power modules take away much of the complicated design efforts and improve power density.

In many consumer drive systems such as fans, pumps, household appliances and compressors, evolution of the technical approaches have lead from simple switches to sophisticated electronics. Designers of these systems are now able to quickly implement an efficient control system for BLDC and PMSM motors, and reduce system cost at the same time.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand how advanced system features impossible with synchronous AC motors can now easily be addressed
  • How to configure variable speed drives for brushless DC and permanent magnet motors through an easy to use software tool, and get the motor running in less than one hour
  • Learn more about how a large motor power range can be addressed with highly integrated power stages driven by logic signals
