Overview

This webinar will be broadcast at 8 am EST, 5 am PST, 2 pm CET.

In this webinar you can learn all about fast, transparent, safe and flexible use of IO-Link. Experience the advantages and opportunities of IO-Link, the communication system for the connection of intelligent sensors and actuators: fast use, easy handling and cost reduction.

Leading manufacturers from the fields of sensors, actuators and control technology have developed IO-Link. This standardised field-bus independent interface for automation provides the user with point-to-point connections without complex addressing.

The transfer of cyclical and acyclical data, for example, as well as messages in both directions are implemented. The advantages of IO-Link are: no external influence of the signal, no measured value losses, easy sensor replacement, tamper-free operation, unique device identification, and wire-break detection / diagnostics.

Key Takeaways

  • Learn how IO-Link's plug&play functionality makes setup easy
  • Learn how you can save 20 % of the component costs with IO-Link
  • Understand how to send your sensor data to the cloud using the IO-Link master

Speakers

Tobias Wolff, Product Manager Industrial Communication, ifm group

Tobias Wolff has been working for the ifm group of companies for more than seven years. After completing his professional training in electrical engineering and further training in automation technology / PLC programming he decided to focus on industrial communication at an early point of his career. He used his specialist knowledge to provide assistance to customers in system support before changing to product management three years ago. Since then, he has been responsible for the IO-Link master product range.

Mario Holt, Content and Campaign Manager, ifm group

Mario Holt studied electrical engineering at the City University of Applied Sciences in Bremen. He has been working for leading manufacturers from the automation industry for more than 15 years. He initiated product developments in the field of position sensors and has been applying his specialist knowledge to the benefit of the content and campaign management of the ifm group of companies for two years. In particular, he promoted IO-Link as a communication interface that is easily integrated into existing systems and installations.
