Overview
Roughly 100 years after the Wright brothers took to the sky at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the acronym "UAV" has become widely known. Remotely piloted, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have been key players in the wars of Afghanistan and Iraq, receiving much publicity on the evening news. But the opportunities for UAV use extend far beyond military missions. In fact, unmanned aircraft are ready to take off in a wide variety of commercial applications, from long-distance pipeline surveillance and disaster reconnaissance to crop dusting and climate observation. This presentation is intended to bring attendees up-to-speed on developments and trends in the unmanned aerospace industry.
