As well as the level of exposure to chemicals, the performance of a glove in use is also affected by flexing, stretching, ambient temperature, etc. Manufacturers and wearers need to know how long a glove can be used before the chemical has permeated through the glove, and there is risk of exposure. Currently, there are very few tests that will allow such determination and those that do exist are not only costly and time consuming to perform but are also subject to an inherent time delay for analysis.
