Why is Energy Efficiency Important?

From Applied Industrial Technologies

With energy costs constantly rising, it's critical to identify opportunities that positively impact the bottom line. Electric motor-driven systems are estimated to consume more than one-half of all electricity in the USA and more than 70% of all electricity in industrial applications. In 1992, the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) established minimum efficiency standards for industrial electrical motors. Yet, only about 10 percent of all motors in use today comply with the minimum efficiency levels that the act mandates. A well-planned energy efficiency management program can reduce plant operating expenses and lead to increased profits.

Products & Services
Motor parts and motor accessories include products such as motor seals, commutators, laminations or laminated cores, armatures, carbon brushes, and contacts. Learn more about Motor Parts and Accessories
Gearboxes and gearheads are speed reducers that consist of a set of gears, shafts, and bearings in an enclosed housing. In converting inputs to outputs, they reduce RPM and increase torque. Search by Specification | Learn more about Gearboxes and Gearheads
DC servomotors are generally small and powerful for their size, and easy to control. Common types of DC servomotors include brushless or gear motors. Search by Specification | Learn more about DC Servomotors
DC motors are most commonly used in variable speed and torque applications. They include brushless and gear motors, as well as servomotors. Search by Specification | Learn more about DC Motors
