Solving Problems Encountered When Using Long Cables for an External Clock Signal

From KineticSystems/GaGe

A customer wants to transmit an external clock signal to his CompuScope card through a 100 ft coaxial cable. Using long cables and high frequency signals introduces problems which are not normally encountered when using short cables or low frequency signals. What is normally a straightforward connection becomes quite complex

Products & Services
Chart recorders and strip charts are data acquisition tools used to generate a plot, graph or other visualization of data versus time. Search by Specification | Learn more about Chart Recorders and Strip Charts
Data loggers and data recorders acquire digital data from sensors and other signals. They are primarily used to store data for subsequent downloads to a host PC, but may also include real-time features such as monitors and alarms. Search by Specification | Learn more about Data Loggers and Data Recorders
Signal generators and waveform generators are used to test and align all types of transmitters and receivers, to measure frequency and to generate a signal, waveform or noise source. Signal generators can use AC energy, audio frequency (AF) and radio frequency (RF) to function. Search by Specification | Learn more about Signal Generators and Waveform Generators
Calibration standards and reference sources include any source that can provide a reference for the calibration of an instrument or comparison of a material or component. Search by Specification | Learn more about Calibration Standards and Reference Sources
Data acquisition is the digitizing and processing of multiple sensor or signal inputs for the purpose of monitoring, analyzing and/or controlling systems and processes. Signal conditioning includes the amplification, filtering, converting, and other processes required to make sensor output suitable for rereading by computer boards.
