The filtration of electrically insulating slurries results in high voltage potentials. The subsequent electrical discharges induce an aging process on the membrane surfaces causing the membranes to become brittle. This results in premature failures of the membrane. To avoid these damages, Klinkau has developed a special antistatic membrane compound. This material is electrically non chargeable.
