From fiberoptix.com
Sometimes it's important to know how many fibers exist in a bundle. From a production perspective, this knowledge allows us to size the bundle on the drum, as it's made... maintaining consistency... minimizing cost. If you're calculating fiber with integral buffer and/or jacket, the total diameter, including buffer/jacket should be used. Of course, if you're working to estimate the number of fibers in a ferrule, and the fiber you're working with has a buffer or jacket, give us a call. Products & Services
Light guides conduct the flow of light from a light source to a point of use in areas that are too small or too hazardous to permit the installation of a light bulb. There are two basic types of light guides: liquid and fiber optic.
Fiber optic ferrules are mechanical fixtures, generally rigid tubes, which are used to confine the stripped end of a fiber or a fiber bundle.
Fiber optic cables are composed of one or more transparent optical fibers enclosed in protective coverings and strength members. Fiber optic cables are used to transmit "light" data.
Fiber optic fault locators shine red laser light through jacketed fibers to identify breaks, bends, faulty connectors, splices and other causes of signal loss.
Fiber optic wiring accessories are used to connect, adapt, polish, repair, fiber and fiber optic cables. This area includes fiber optic consumables such as polish, swabs, wipes, etc.
