Mean peak to valley height is the difference between the highest peak and lowest valley in each sample on the evaluation length. Usually, the assessment length is divided into five sampling or cutoff lengths. Rtm is not as sensitive a single high peak or low valley measurement of the profile such as Rt, Rp or Rv. Rtm is the mean roughness depth. Rtm is equivalent to Rz ISO when more than one sample length is evaluated (typically five). Rtm is equal to the sum of the Rp + Rv values in each sample length divided by the number of sample lengths. The current ASME/ISO Rz or maximum roughness depth parameter should not be confused with the JIS 10-point Rz or the older, defunct ISO 10-point height Rz parameter. Products & Services
Surface profilometers are contact or non-contact instruments used to measures surface profiles, roughness, waviness and other finish parameters.
Surface metrology equipment is used to measure the surface finish and/or geometry of engineering components. Surface texture and topology characteristics include surface roughness, contour, form, waviness and defects.
Mold bases and mold plates are used to support molds and tooling in injection molding, compression molding and resin transfer molding (RTM) processes.
Spectrometers are analytical instruments which disperse an emission (such as particles or radiation) according to some property of the emission (such as mass or energy) in order to measure the amount of the dispersion. This product area includes visible, infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), atomic absorption (AA), optical emission (OE), Raman, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and mass spectrometers. Specific search forms are also available.
UV and visible spectrometers measure the amount of ultraviolet (UV) and visible light transmitted or absorbed by a sample placed in the spectrometer.
