Pressure generators are used with industrial equipment such as abrasive blast machines and sandblasters to increases the pressure of the carrier fluid (water or air). Often, plunger-type intensifier pumps are used to generate high-pressure water for water jet cutting, wet or water abrasive blasting, and non-abrasive pressure washing or rinsing. Crankshaft-driven plunger pumps are also used for pressure generation. These pumps may be more efficient in electrical energy costs compared to intensifiers, but at high pressures (>20,00 psi) seals must be replaced periodically. Crankshaft-driven plunger pumps provide a virtually ripple-free pressure source in comparison to pressure intensifiers; however, an accumulator may be required to smooth out pressure fluctuations if an intensifier pump is used. In air-based blast or jet systems, air compressors are used to generate pressure. Blast pressure is an important specification to consider when selecting pressure generators. Products & Services
Abrasive blast machines and sandblasters clean and prepare surfaces by directing a stream of abrasive particles against a part or a surface.
