Writing for Visual Media

The CD-ROM will be linked to the text by an icon throughout the printed text. The CD-ROM provides an interactive menu that corresponds to the chapters of the book. All materials referenced by the CD icon in the printed text can be accessed via this menu. Additional interactivity allows readers to consult:

camera movements
camera transitions

a video clip of a scene shot from many script examples
demos of scripting software
Please note many URLs mentioned in the text become active links on the CD- ROM. Some are provided in endnotes for reference that are not active links.
The making of this book and the accompanying CD owes much to many people. I am grateful to writer and director, Peter Cutler, for making his corporate scripts and videos available and getting permission from his clients to reproduce them in the CD-ROM. A number of Mount Ida College students allowed their work to be used as examples: Abigail Orlando, John Benedetti, Carl Brown, Dario Guzman, and Dara Neugroschl. Others were willing to be photographed or videotaped.
