Graphite, flake graphite, and graphitic carbon have a hexagonal, crystalline structure that cleave or shears easily, making graphite a soft material and effective lubricant. A form of carbon, graphite has an anisotropic hexagonal crystal structure. Graphite brush-material grades are used in applications that require low friction. They are used at very-low current densities and very-high peripheral speeds. Graphite is the most commonly used EDM electrode material because of its good machinability, wear resistance, and low cost. Like carbon, graphite is a non-metallic substance with an extremely-high sublimation temperature which provides resistance to high-temperature arcs. Fine, grain-sized graphite tends to have better erosion and wear performance, but costs more. Products & Services
Electrical contact and electrode materials are soft, high conductivity, oxidation resistant materials used in circuit breakers, relays, and for EDM applications.
Gaskets are used to prevent fluid or gas leaks by providing a barrier between two mating surfaces.
Electrical and electromechanical assembly services provide board-level assembly, chassis and rack panel wiring, and front panel assembly. Typically, suppliers provide the complete turnkey production of electronic and electromechanical finished products from procurement through final assembly with testing and burn-in, if required.
EDM electrode materials and components consist of highly conductivity and/or arc erosion resistant materials such as graphite, copper or copper graphite.
Carbon occurs in a variety of forms such as vitreous carbon, pyrolytic graphite, hexagonal graphite and polycrystalline diamond (PCD). Carbon and graphite materials have high refractoriness while diamond has the highest hardness of all known materials.
