Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is a thermoset material made from medium or high density, cross-linkable polyethylene (PE) which meets the requirements of ASTM F876 and F877. PEX was introduced into the United States in the 1980s and has replaced polybutylene (PB) as the most widely-used flexible tubing for plumbing. Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is deemed acceptable for water-distribution tubing in most model plumbing codes. Products & Services
Tubing is used to transport fluid and gas in pneumatic, hydraulic, or process applications. Tubing differs from pipe in that tubing's outside diameter or size is controlled and used for product designation.
