Ultrasonic meters include Doppler Effect meters and time of flight meters. Doppler meters measure the frequency shifts caused by liquid flow. The frequency shift is proportional to the liquid's velocity. Time of flight ultrasonic meters use the speed of the signal traveling between two transducers. This speed increases or decreases with the direction of transmission and the velocity of the liquid being measured. Time of flight meters do not work well with liquids with suspended solids or air gaps. Products & Services
Gas flow meters are used for measuring the flow or quantity of a moving gas in an enclosed pipe or passage.

Mass liquid flow switches and mass gas flow switches are devices used for measuring the flow or quantity of a moving liquid or gas in terms of a unit of mass per unit time, such as pounds per minute. These devices may be sensors with electrical output or may be stand-alone instruments with local displays and controls.

Ultrasonic Flowmeters
Ultrasonic flowmeters send sound waves through the flowing stream. They can measure either the Doppler shift as ultrasonic waves are bounced off particles in the flow stream,...

This property is of importance when considering magnetic flowmeters. In most
designs, the meter is able to detect flow only if the liquid is capable of conducting
electricity to a small extent.

Velocity meters operate linearly with respect to the volume flow rate. Because there is no square-root relationship (as with differential pressure devices), their range ability is greater. Examples of...

For a radar onboard a flying platform (aircraft, drone, satellite) the direction dependent relative velocities of the ground scatterers cause corresponding Doppler frequency shifts...
