Investment casting patterns are molded by the injection of a special wax into a metal die. The patterns are assembled into a cluster around a wax runner system. The 'tree' of patterns is then coated with 8-10 layers of a refractory material. The assembly is heated to remove the wax. The hot mold is cast, and when cool, the mold material is removed by impact, vibration, grit blasting, high pressure water blasting or chemical dissolution leaving the investment castings, which are then removed from the runner system. Products & Services
Metal casting involves the shaping of free-flowing liquid metals through the use of dies, molds or patterns.
Foundry equipment and supplies used in die casing, investment casting and other metal casting operations.
Waxes and wax compounds are high molecular weight organic materials similar to fats and oils, except waxes are solid at room temperature (melting point above 45 C). Waxes are used in sealers, polishes, inks, lubricants, binders and investment casting.
Rapid prototyping automates the fabrication of a prototype part from a three-dimensional (3-D) CAD drawing. These physical models convey more complete information about the product earlier in the development cycle.
Refractory services for manufacturing, installing and repairing refractory shapes or monolithic refractories.
