Solvent Transfer

Transferring a nonlubricating solvent from a truck to a tank or from the tank to the processing facility can be tricky. WHY? Because of the impact lack of lubricity can have on the life of a pump's internal parts. Also, since solvents can be very expensive any liquid left in the pipe or tanks is lost profit. It is very important to install a pump that will maintain steady flow under varying pressures and that will also line strip when the tank is empty. What pump meets all the above criteria? Blackmer GX and X models! Typically most solvents will be about 30 SSU or less at 70 degrees Fahrenheit temperature. Many applications are being pumped at less than 50 psi working pressure. Watch the Vapor Pressure! Glossary * LINE STRIP - to run the pump after the tank is empty to remove as much residue from the intake as possible. * PSI - (pounds per square inch) a method of describing pressure.
