Divinycell Meets Structural/Insulation Requirements for Water Treatment Units

From DIAB

Aquapoint of New Bedford, MA in the United States specializes in the manufacture of small, decen¬tralized wastewater management systems. One of their main products is the Bioclere™, a modified trickling filter that reduces the biochemical oxygen demand and total suspended solids to levels that meet or exceed NSF and EPA standards. As the wastewater trickles through the biological filter, organic material is absorbed into the biological mass that forms on the surface of filter media. Secondary sludges that slough off the self-purging filter are returned to the primary tank and clarified water is displaced to the disposal area. Literally tens of thousands of Bioclere systems have been installed in the US, Europe and the Middle East. As the main Bioclere unit, which is manufactured from grp, is designed to be installed in the ground there is a risk that the water in the system could freeze in temperate climates. By using Divinycell sandwich composites, Aquapoint have been able to meet the structural requirements and at the same time have achieved the required insulation levels.
