From MTS Sensors
The rugged environment of off-road equipment, suspension and implement position feedback is a natural environment for Temposonics C-Series sensors. These proven sensors stand up to the most abusive shock and vibration requirements. Hydraulic positioning cylinders used as lifts are an ideal application for MTS C-Sereis sensors. C-Series sensors offer convenient, protected mounting schemes and high reliability with a choice of data formats. These sensors are absolute so that loss of power does not require rehoming or re-learning current position when power is restored. Cab suspensions are typically equipped with dampers or combination dampers and leveling cylinders to control ride attitude and damping rates. MTS Temposonics sensors offer control over both velocity and ride height/attitude with one sensor. Their unique ability to monitor more than one magnet allows two section damper/actuators to use one sensor to monitor each section's unique parameter. These sensors are also compatible with the new magneto-rheological fluid dampers. Products & Services

Magnetostrictive position sensors are non-contact linear position sensors that use the momentary interaction of two magnetic fields to produce a strain pulse that moves along a waveguide. One field is from a magnet that moves along the outside of the waveguide. The other field is from the waveguide itself.
