Requirements for digital data bus (MIL-STD-1553, for example) transformer phase testing, current transformer connection verification and precision component measurements are becoming more and more prevalent as a part of aircraft and launcher sub-assembly wiring testing. The problem is that it is not simple (or, actually, it may be impossible) to make these types of tests with presently installed wiring analyzers.
Each of these tests can be made by the simultaneous application of a very short current pulse and then performing a synchronous measurement of the effect of this current pulse. This mandates for a 4-wire test, which most analyzers can perform. However, this 4-wire test capability is very restrictive since the “sense” addresses are always directly related to the “force” addresses – usually the next higher odd address. This restriction is introduced because the switching matrix is constructed using multiple-pole relays, i.e., more than one switching address per relay coil. Unfortunately, in practice the “force” addresses are never physically close to the “sense” addresses, which requires that complex, cumbersome and unwieldy adapter cables be manufactured to bring the “force” and “sense” addresses next to each other at the analyzer interface.
Products & Services
Power quality analyzers measure and monitor electrical power parameters to avoid disturbances, track steady-state variations, and ensure the reliability of power distribution systems.
Instrument calibration services test equipment and calibrate them to various standards.
Bus analyzers and bus exercisers are used to monitor and check the performance of a system bus.
Microprocessor chips (MPU) are silicon devices that serve as the central processing unit (CPU) in computers. They contain thousands of electronic components and use a collection of machine instructions to perform mathematical operations and move data from one memory location to another.
Network test equipment is used to test, probe, and analyze telecommunication, network and telephone systems.
