Bearing Mounting

For instrument bearings, certain special considerations should be emphasized: Accurate axial positioning of the shaft relative to the housing requires shoulders, snap rings, or bearing flanges. Diameter of a shaft or housing shoulder must be sufficient to ensure solid seating and support for applied thrust loads, yet small enough to avoid interference with other parts of the bearing. Most manufacturers provide recommended shoulder dimensions for each bearing size. Fit accuracy between shoulder and mounting diameter should be as good as bearing accuracy. The corner between the

Ball bearings are used to provide smooth, low friction motion in rotary applications. Ball bearings types include radial ball bearings (deep groove and angular contact) and thrust ball bearings. Search by Specification | Learn more about Ball Bearings
Bearing rings, housings and flanges are bearing components that are used in the assembly of many different types of bearings. Bearing rings, which are sometimes referred to as bearing races, guide a rolling element such as a ball, roller, or needle roller. Bearing housings and flanges hold an insert bearing in position, support the load transferred from the bearing shaft through the bearing, and are used to mount the bearing to a surface. Thrust bearings are designed for pure thrust loads, and can handle little or no radial load. The rolling element in a thrust bearing can be a ball, needle or roller. Search by Specification | Learn more about Thrust Bearings
Angular contact bearings are designed so that a contact angle between the races and the balls is formed when the bearing is in use. Search by Specification | Learn more about Angular Contact Bearings
Spherical roller bearings are self-aligning, double row, combination radial and thrust bearings. They use a spherical or crowned roller as the rolling element. Search by Specification | Learn more about Spherical Roller Bearings
