Rietschle Thomas is a global leader in the production of compressors and pumps for global OEM, end-user, and engineered systems applications. They selected a ThinGap brushless part-set to power the Horizon Model 2250 pressure/vacuum pump to provide unprecedented levels of mobility and efficiency when used in portable oxygen concentrators. Weight and battery life are extremely important in a portable medical device. Rietschle Thomas' press release said about the ThinGap motor "A highly efficient brushless DC motor offers low power consumption for long battery life. The motor offers variable speed from 1,000 to 3,000 RPM, meaning the air flow can be steplessly varied according to patient need."
