With the growing importance of effective pollution control, added emphasis has been placed on Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) uses BOD levels to measure effluent strength and to establish effluent guidelines as required by the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. BOD is a measure of the content of biologically degradable substances in sewage. The substances are broken down by microorganisms in the presence of (and with the consumption of) oxygen. Oxygen demand is measured in terms of the oxygen consumed by microorganisms over a period of 5 days (BOD5) or seven days (BOD7). Products & Services
Water and wastewater management and treatment services are publicly-owned treatment works (POTW) that serve residential, commercial, and industrial facilities and infrastructures.
Rotating biological contactors are large discs on rotating shafts that are mounted in wastewater tanks, but only partly submerged. As the discs turn, the microorganisms on them repeatedly contact both air and the organic substances in the water.
Specialty pollution control and remediation equipment is specialized or proprietary equipment related to air and water pollution control, remediation, and cleanup.
Nitrification systems are used to control ammonia levels. Denitrification systems are used to turn nitrate into gaseous nitrogen species.
Environmental consulting and engineering services provide design planning and assessment, project management, permit acquisition and other services.
