Every product manufactured is formulated to lubricate, cut, grind, lap, polish or clean better than any competitive product on the market.
ABC-Warren Superabrasives (Olyphant, Penn and Handan, China) is one of the largest diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) processors in the world with a production capacity exceeding 1 billion carats (1 carat = 0.2 grams) of mesh (> 40 micron) and 600 million carats of micron (<40 micron) powders per year. An extensive range of superabrasive particles are processed including natural diamond (NAT), monocrystalline, synthetic metal bond (MB) diamond, synthetic resin bond (RB) diamond, Ni and Cu coated MB and RB diamond, CBN and Ni and Cu coated CBN and polycrystalline (PC) and ultra-detonated diamond (UDD). Particles as large as 16/20 mesh (~1000 microns) and as small as 10 nanometers are produced routinely and consistently in our state-of-the-art facilities. Best-in-class products are provided to end users ranging from grinding wheel to magnetic recording head manufacturers.
Amplex Superabrasives (Anaheim, Calif., Avignon, France and coming soon -- Handan, China) manufactures an extensive line of diamond and cubic boron nitride (CBN) compounds and slurries ranging in size from < 0.1 micron to 90 micron. Products are available in water soluble (WS), oil soluble (OS) or universally soluble (UN) formulations and are used in the grinding, lapping and polishing of virtually all solid materials including metals, ceramics, glasses and crystals. The compounds and slurries are designed to deliver maximum cutting rates while maintaining the customer's desired surface quality and finish in the Ultra-Fine (Ra 0-1), Super-Fine (Ra 1-6) and Fine Finish (Ra 6-20) ranges. To complete the Amplex Polishing System, "IO" polishing pads are offered with compounds and slurries for application specific needs.
Specialty Abrasives (Worcester, Mass) is a world leading synthesizer and manufacturer of engineered nano particles of ceramic oxide abrasives including aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide. These materials are used in the critical steps of CMP (Chemo-Mechanical Planarizing/Polishing) in the fabrication of semiconductor devices and magnetic recording heads. In addition to ceramic oxide powders, specially tailored alumina slurries used for the epi-ready polishing of LED sapphire wafers, zirconia slurries for the replacement of ceria in the polishing of optical glasses and chemically optimized slurries and vehicles for general industrial lapping and polishing are manufactured on a large scale basis.
