Founded in 1918, the American Gas Association (AGA) represents more than 200 local energy companies that deliver clean natural gas throughout the United States. Today, more than 68 million residential, commercial and industrial customers across the nation receive their reliable, affordable supplies of natural gas from AGA members - and natural gas meets almost a quarter of America’s energy needs.

AGA's vision is to be the most effective and influential energy trade association in the United States while providing clear value to its membership. AGA is an advocate for natural gas utility companies and their customers and provides a broad range of programs and services for member natural gas pipelines, marketers, gatherers, international natural gas companies and industry associates.

Safety is the core value of the natural gas industry. The industry spends billions of dollars are spent each year to help ensure that natural gas is delivered safely, reliably and efficiently. AGA promotes positive safety cultures among all of its member companies.
