Did you know that the new UNE-EN ISO 56008 establishes the foundations for measuring innovation operations in any company and improving their performance?

The UNE-EN ISO 56008:2026 standard is now available, which provides guidance for the definition, implementation, evaluation and improvement of the measurements necessary to effectively manage innovation activities in an organization.

It establishes the fundamentals of the measurements of the innovation operation and orients its application towards four areas:

- Measurements to establish and implement innovation initiatives

- Measurements of innovation processes

- Measurements for innovation initiatives

- Measurement of innovation portfolios

The rule applies to:

- Organizations that want to define and implement an approach to measuring innovation operations.

- Organizations and stakeholders seeking to improve the areas of accountability, transparency, and evidence-based evaluation of innovation operations.

- Customers, investors, and other parties seeking confidence in the management of the organization's innovation operations and their results.

- Providers of training in operations and innovation measurements, including evaluation and advice on achieving results.

- Experts in the evaluation of innovation operations and impact assessment, favouring the use of a harmonised international guidance standard.

- Policy makers and managers of innovation programmes in order to obtain evidence of the progress and desired results of innovation activities, supported through public policies and programmes.
