Spherical Lenses
Featured Product from Avantier Inc.
Avantier manufactures custom spherical lenses in plano-convex, double convex, and plano-concave shapes, built to meet your specific wavefront and low-scatter requirements. This precision matters most in demanding applications like laser systems, where even the slightest imperfection can affect performance.
Spherical Lens Shapes
- Plano-Convex Lenses: One flat and one spherical surface, with a positive focal length. Ideal for collimation and near-infinite conjugates, with minimal spherical aberration up to about 5:1. Face the curved side toward the largest object distance.
- Double Convex Lenses: Two equal convex surfaces, with a positive focal length. Best for image relays and conjugate ratios between 5:1 and 1:5, with minimal spherical aberration at 1:1.
- Plano-Concave Lenses: One flat and one concave surface, with a negative focal length. Used for beam expansion and light projection, and to offset aberrations from convex lenses. In high-energy lasers, face the flat side toward the largest object distance.
