RTP Q-Switches for High-Repetition Lasers
Featured Product from CRYSTECH, Inc.
High-repetition pulsed laser systems require electro-optic Q-switches that withstand high optical intensity while maintaining fast, stable switching performance.
Crystech RTP Q-Switches use RTP crystals with a large electro-optic coefficient, high damage threshold, broad transparency, non-deliquescent behavior, and low optical loss. Two crystals are rotated 90° around the optical axis to compensate static birefringence, while the transverse electro-optic effect enables adjustable operating voltage.
The devices provide a damage threshold >10 J/cm² at 1064nm (10ns, 10Hz) and insertion loss <1% at 1064nm. With no piezoelectric ringing effect, they support repetition rates up to 100kHz. A -50°C to +70°C operating range supports wide-temperature use.
The application wavelength range is 420-2800nm, with typical wavelengths of 755, 1030, 1064, 1535, 2100, and 2780nm.

Manufacturing Capability
Crystech provides conventional, low-pressure, and slab RTP Q-Switch configurations with multiple crystal apertures and lengths, enabling selection around operating voltage, capacitance, mechanical dimensions, and application environment.
For example, the QR5510A has a half-wave voltage of approximately 2000V. Low-pressure series options are also available for reduced-pressure operating conditions.
Combining RTP crystal processing, electro-optic device design, optical assembly, and multiple structural configurations, Crystech supports Q-switch solutions for wide-temperature and high-repetition laser systems.
