Bevel gears solve a specific problem: transmitting torque between intersecting shafts, usually at 90 degrees. Their conical geometry allows compact right-angle drives without the layout penalties of separate gearbox stages. Our custom bevel gears are machined for consistent tooth contact and controlled backlash, making them suitable for automotive differentials, robotic joints, and industrial machinery.

What matters in real applications:

  • Tooth accuracy: CNC cutting and grinding hold profile tolerance within 0.02 mm, reducing noise and vibration at operating speed

  • Material and heat treatment: Alloy steel such as 20CrMnTi or 42CrMo, case-hardened to 58–62 HRC for wear resistance while retaining core toughness

  • Surface finish: Ground teeth achieve Ra 0.4 μm where low friction and extended life are required

  • Custom configuration: Straight, spiral, or Zerol tooth forms; custom ratios, bore sizes, keyways, and mounting features

Typical applications include differential drives in vehicles, right-angle drives in packaging and printing machinery, robotic wrist joints, and power tools. For each application, the key is matching tooth form and material to the actual load and speed profile rather than defaulting to a general-purpose design.

We produce prototypes and small batches as well as volume orders, with CMM inspection and material certification available. For drawings, specifications, or a recommendation based on your torque and speed requirements, visit cdleno.com or contact our engineering team.
