The sensor simultaneously measures methane concentrations from 0 to 100% volume, carbon dioxide from 0 to 100% volume, and includes a pre-calibrated propane range from 0 to 2% volume as standard. This multi-gas capability allows a single sensor to replace multiple sensing elements, simplifying system design and reducing overall power requirements.
Built on proven non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology, the sensor delivers stable, accurate measurements across demanding operating conditions. High-resolution performance supports detailed gas analysis, with methane measurement resolution reaching 0.01% volume at lower concentrations and carbon dioxide resolution of 0.01% volume within the 0–5% range. Propane measurements are provided with a resolution of 0.01% volume across the full measurement range.
Optimized for battery-powered and portable instruments, the sensor draws just 15 mA and 45 mW at 3 V. Compared with using two separate low-power sensors, the design further reduces power consumption, making it particularly suitable for remote monitoring systems and energy-conscious applications.
A dedicated biogas configuration is available for applications requiring simultaneous methane and carbon dioxide monitoring, providing an effective solution for anaerobic digestion systems, renewable energy facilities, landfill gas monitoring, and gas quality assessment.
