Climatics » Temperature & Temperature Cycling Testing
At E-Labs, we offer Temperature and Temperature Cycling Testing, a crucial method to assess how materials and components respond to rapid and extreme temperature changes or can operate after long term exposure to extreme hot or cold conditions. These processes are essential for determining the durability, reliability, and longevity of units under test subjected to fluctuating or steady state environmental conditions.

Temperature Cycling
At E-Labs, we create an accelerated environment where units under test undergo repeated cycles of heating and cooling. The rate of thermal change can be controlled from less than 1° C per minuite to Thermal Shock (less than 5 minutes between thermal extremes). These controlled thermal shifts expose any potential issues such as:

  • Material fatigue
  • Seal or component failures
  • Degradation of performance
  • Loosening of components
  • Thermal Expansion and Contraction

Temperature Cycling testing is frequently used to test for unit under test longevity. Frequent temperature changes can cause expansion and contraction in materials, leading to stress, cracks, and eventual failure. It also can identify potential weaknesses before they cause real-world problems. Testing can provide improved unit under test reliability by simulating rapid temperature variations and ensure your units under test maintain their integrity and performance abilities. We can also tailor the testing conditions to your specific unit under test needs, mimicking the precise range of temperatures your unit under test will encounter in its operational environment.

At E-Labs, we also customize your testing to your specific needs or to Military & Commercial Industry standards. Contact E-Labs for your custom quote.

Climatics Testing
E-Labs, Inc provides a wide variety of environmental exposure testing services with the ability to simulate and control climatic conditions including high and low temperatures and temperature cycling, humidity, altitude, pressure, wind, solar heating, exposure to UV light, corrosive atmospheres, blowing rain, sand and dust, icing and other climatic variables.

These climatic testing services play an important role for the unit under test (UUT) to ensure that stringent custom and industry standard specifications are met. UUTs tested range from coupon samples to parts and components, to finished products. Industries we have served for climatics testing include Department of defense, Aerospace / Avionics, Appliances, Automotive, Electronics, HVAC, Industrial / Machinery, and Life Science / Medical. The effects of UUT exposure to climate-related conditions are modeled through the use of special test chambers. These chambers have the ability to cover extreme environmental variations as well as constant temperature and humidity levels, temperature and humidity cycles and temperature shock.

With over 20 chambers, the climatics department of E-Labs offers a wide range of chamber sizes from 2 to 3,500 cubic feet (drive-in). All chambers are equipped with microprocessor controllers and UUT over and under temperature protection with continuous monitoring and data collection for safe and accurate operation at any temperature or humidity level.

E-Labs, Inc can also provide assistance with the interpretation of specifications as well as the design of proper climatic test programs based on your UUT application.

E-Labs can design and tailor tests to fit your specific requirements. Contact E-Labs for your environmental testing needs.
