These diffraction limited aspheric lenses are typically used in LiDAR systems. Wind LiDAR systems in particular when incorporating such aspheric lenses see gains in sensitivity and resolution in wind detection. Additionally Knight Optical aspheric lenses are incorporated into systems to reduce the number of components thus reducing build costs.
Knight Optical’s diamond turned aspheric lenses for wind LiDAR systems are coated with a v-coat centred at 1.5-1.56 micron ensuring optimal performance and minimal losses to the system. The lenses can be provided in a range of materials from optical glasses such as BK7 and UVFS to more exotic materials from the Schott, Hoya, Ohara and CDGM catalogue.
