The New York Blower Company (NYB) and KDS Windsor (KDS) have recently announced they are expanding manufacturing operations in Philadelphia, MS. This joint venture is one of many investments in growth the past few years.

This comes as the result of NYB’s 100% ownership acquisition of KDS in August, 2022 and a multi-year plan to acquire additional manufacturing capabilities and storage space for KDS and NYB.

This new facility will manufacture OEM fans and components and disperse field service technicians in the southeast. Additional capabilities include new kiln production and providing service and replacement parts for existing kilns, ventilation systems and fans.

NYB has other product manufacturing facilities in New Castle, PA; Effingham, IL; La Porte, IN; and Leitchfield, KY, while KDS has a plant in Hendersonville, NC.

With the new facility in Mississippi, both companies will be able to increase manufacturing capability, diversify their labor force, and gain greater accessibility into Texas and the Southeast. This allows for quicker service, decreased lead times and less costly freight to industrial, OEM and aftermarket customers.

The building in Philadelphia, MS has 150,000 square feet of indoor space, and 100,000 paved square feet of outdoor storage. The outdoor storage space will serve KDS especially well as they assemble kiln components prior to shipment. The building includes significant overhead lifting capacity, furnished office space, and a recently upgraded power supply. Its layout meets the needs for both KDS and NYB with the opportunity for future expansion by both companies.

1. Grand Opening was held on February 1, 2023 with over 100 attendees including local and state officials.
2. KDS kiln manufacturing began in 2022, with NYB fan wheels and components manufacturing following in 2023.
3. Expected to create over 60 jobs, helping to stimulate local economy.
4. Equipment for KDS will include a shear, press brake, heavy-duty roller, production saw, 10 weld booths, and a plasma table. This same equipment will serve NYB’s needs down the road in addition to a TRUMPF Fiber Laser and a Powder Coat Line.
